Group Relations Conferences (GRCs) & Training

Learning through experience in a temporary organisation

Group Relations Conferences (GRCs) are the foundational learning format within the Group Relations tradition. They offer an intensive, experiential environment in which participants study leadership and organisational dynamics by taking part in a temporary learning organisation.

Each conference is designed as a temporary organisation with clear boundaries around task, role, authority, and time. Learning emerges through direct experience and reflection on what unfolds in the here and now, as individuals and groups interact under conditions of uncertainty and pressure.

Consultants work in role to offer observations and interpretations that support learning through experience rather than instruction or solutions.

Training and Shorter Programmes

In addition to full Group Relations Conferences, Group Relations Singapore offers training and development programmes that introduce core Group Relations concepts and practices.

These programmes provide an accessible entry point into Group Relations work while maintaining experiential depth.

Re -Discovering Our Roles: Rituals and Renewal

Group Relations Singapore convened its inaugural Group Relations Conference in November 2025. The conference brought together participants from diverse professional and organisational backgrounds to explore leadership, authority, role, and group dynamics through experiential learning.

Designed as a temporary learning organisation, the conference enabled participants to study how individuals and groups respond to task, authority, and uncertainty in real time. Learning took place through participation in small and large study groups, supported by consultants working in role.
